Small Block Model Tests for the Behaviour of a Blocky Rock Mass Under a Concentrated Rock Anchor Load

چکیده
Abstract Rock anchors are used to stabilise large-scale infrastructure such as the foundations of high buildings or road cuts, and their failure could lead severe economic social consequences. A rock anchor can fail in one more following four modes; breakage tendon steel, tendon-grout bond failure, grout-rock mass failure. In current design, knowledge for first two modes is satisfactorily known relatively easy test. The scientific background last still has a potential improvement further development design criteria needed. To help fill this gap, series block model tests were conducted on small-scale test apparatus evaluate load capacity blocky under load. Digital image correlation (DIC) was monitor full-field displacements models. showed that arches formed layers transferred side frames through these arches. increased with number confinement. observed effect confinement also captured numerical using UDEC software. DIC monitoring identical along vertical line. At given depth, decrease distance centre line anchor.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
A model for estimation of stress-dependent deformation modulus of rock mass
Deformation modulus of rock mass has a significant role in the support design of an underground excavation. It is determined by expensive in-situ tests or by empirical models. Existing models for estimation of deformation modulus do not consider its stress dependence. Herein, data from several sources is used to develop a stress- (depth-) dependent relation for estimation of deformation modulus...
متن کاملevaluation of rock mass deformability
One of the most important effective parameters in design of engineering structures is deformability of rock mass. Benchmark of rock mass deformability is the deformation modulus that directly or indirectly obtained. Since the determination of rock mass deformation modulus indirect method by in-situ tests is time-consuming, costly and difficult from executive operations aspect, so it’s correctly...
متن کاملA new approach for application of rock mass classification on rock slope stability assessment
The objective of this paper is to present a new rock mass classification system which can be appropriate for rock slope stability assessment. In this paper an evaluation model based on combining the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Fuzzy Delphi method (FDM)was presented for assessing slope rockmass quality estimates. This research treats the slope rockmass classification as a group deci...
متن کاملDeflection of a hyperbolic shear deformable microbeam under a concentrated load
Deflection analysis of a simply supported microbeam subjected to a concentrated load at the middle is investigated on the basis of a shear deformable beam theory and non-classical theory. Effects of shear deformation and small size are taken into consideration by hyperbolic shear deformable beam theory and modified strain gradient theory, respectively. The governing differential equations and c...
